What would a fishing trip be without yabbies for bait? If you don't catch a fish, you can always eat the yabbies and come home happy. Everyone has a yabbying story to tell.

"I have always been interested in yabbies, but it wasn't until I did a TAFE course on freshwater aquaculture that I really came to appreciate them. So then I decided I'd grow them commercially. It took considerable time and effort to gain approval from NSW Fisheries, and a lot of work and dollars before the ponds were ready to stock."

Advice on growing yabbies - don't give up your day job!

We mostly supply bait sized yabbies to fishermen, dam stock to farmers and larger ones to local, regional and city restaurants. They're also fascinating pets for your aquarium.

FARMWALKS: Come & explore our yabby farm. See how they are gathered & processed for sale. We sell them for bait, to stock dams & they are delicious to eat. Help pull in the traps & learn to catch them the old fashioned way - a piece of meat on string.

DIRECTIONS:
Taking the Castlereagh Hwy towards Gulgong for approx 14kms, turn left onto Kaludabah Rd . Our farm is the first on the right. A sign is at the entrance.
