MOWATS
OF MUDGEE
Reg
and Penny Mowat "retired" to Mudgee in 1997 and in January
1998 opened Eltons café/restuarant, which was listed in the
Sydney Morning Hearld Good Food guide in its first year of operation
for "food" and "value for money". Reg and Penny
maintained that listing for the three years they owned the café.
After returning from
a holiday in France in 2000, they worked with a friend, a qualified
dietician and nutritionist, and Mowats of Mudgee began.
No artificial
colourings, flavours or preservatives are used. The Pesto and tapenades
are low in fat, salts and sugars - they taste delicious and you
can almost feel them doing you good! No genetically modified ingredients
are used. Mowats of Mudgee is a family company - people who love
food, Mudgee and the produce of the Central Ranges.
