DEEB'S
KITCHEN
"Food
prepared by Deeb sings on the plate. The meal I especially loved featured
his signature dish — a whole lamb marinated in cinnamon and
garlic and stuffed with rice, nuts and spices and cooked to fragrant
perfection and served with a red wine reduction full of favour."
— Maeve O'Meara, The Sun-Herald, March, 2006.
Sybil
and Bechora Deeb opened Deeb's Kitchen at the corner of Cassilis Road
and Buckaroo Lane in 1999. The restaurant is located in the old Eurunderee
School House which was built in 1902.
A visit
to Deeb's Kitchen will give a different perspective about educating
us about our food.
For a Farm Walk with a difference, Bechora will take you for a short
walk through his vegetable garden where he grows many of the herbs
used in his Restaurant, and then into the kitchen, where he will teach
how to make Manooj. This is a delicious flat bred, flavoured with
dried thyme, sesame seeds, and spices. Once cooked, you get to enjoy
the bread with a coffee, before heading to the next farm.
