EDIBLES
Angela's
Edibles is a range of small batch preserves made by Angela Leonard,
in Mudgee NSW Australia. Her emphasis is on using produce from her
own garden, her family's garden, local area gardens and Mudgee produce
that she picks herself. This might include a product made from a
single source, a favourite fruit tree, the cumquat trees from her
garden or from a small grove of quince trees growing along the Cudgegong
River.
She began making jams
and preserves in 1986 when her husband Simon and she opened one
of Mudgee's first Bed and Breakfast accommodation houses.
Her aim is to
capture the flavours of Mudgee in a jar and her philosophy is captured
in this poem.
“Mudgee
in the pot,
I cook
and stir a lot.
I put
it in a jar for you
So you
can have some Mudgee too.”
You will find
her wares at the Mudgee Farmers Markets, Heart of Mudgee, Farmers
Daughter Wines, Bylong General Store (home of the Mouse Races!),
Mudgee Tourism Office, High Valley Wine and Cheese, Frog Rock Wines,
Mainly Mudgee, and at the Rylstone Street Feast (November each year).
