Carbon Farmer of the Year Award
MFFI member, Tim Woods of Wellington Farm Lamb, was recently announced as the winner of the Central West catchment's Carbon Cocky competition for his focus on increasing the carbon levels in his soils through holistic grazing practices - improving the health of his soils and the environment in which we live. Judges fly in to judge our high flyers!
Seven of Australia’s top flight foodies are in town from 31 July to 2 August to judge the National Mudgee Fine Food Awards for 2011.

With three hundred entries representing every state in Australia, this year’s judging will be no easy feat. From tapenade to trout, from mustard to macarons, both local food producers and interstate rivals will be hoping to win the priveledge of displaying a Gold, Silver or Bronze Mudgee Fine Foods Medallion on their products. read more..

Food Awards anxiously anticipated
Entrants in the 2011 Fine Food Awards are travelling from near and far to be in Mudgee this weekend seeking recognition for their products in a tough national competition. Linda Wilson, co-ordinator for this years’ Awards reports, “Food producers who win a medal in Mudgee can be justifiably proud knowing they’ve a quality product worthy of national recognition”. read more..
